Regional Basketball Playoffs Run-Down

CHOUTEAU GIRLS Chouteau girls face Hulbert this evening at 6:30 in Preston. The Lady Wildcats are 18-6 and ranked #16. Their losses are from 3A teams (Adair 3A #1 and 3A #16 Cascia Hall in the Chouteau Tournament and Keys earlier this month), a Maryland team at KSA Tournament in Florida and 2A ranked #5 Mounds in the Preston Tournament. Chouteau has beat Hulbert twice since the first of the year (46-44 OT and 56-39). Hulbert is Unranked and 18-7 for the year. The winner of the Chouteau/Hulbert game will face the winner of Dale (#3, 23-3)/Luther (Unranked, 18-6) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Rejoice Christian to claim Regional winner. Both Regional Champion and Runner-Up head to Area next weekend.
BOYS Chouteau boys face Preston at 8 p.m. this evening in Preston. The Wildcats are unranked, 18-6 this season. Preston is ranked #12 and 16-10. Both previous matchups this season to Preston has resulted in a loss for Chouteau (81-57 and 79-71). The winner of the Preston/Chouteau game will face the winner of Dale (#20, 15-11)/Luther (#9, 19-4) on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Rejoice Christian for Regional Championship. Both Regional Champion and Runner-up moves on to Area next week.
ADAIR/SALINA
GIRLS
Adair girls face Oklahoma Christian School in the first round of 3A Regionals tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Perkins-Tryon. The Lady Warriors are ranked #1 with a record of 21-2 this season. Their only losses were to 5A #8 Pryor in the Pryor Tournament (39-52) and 2A #2 Tahlequah Sequoyah (55-59). They split the season with Tahlequah Sequoyah, beating them at home in January 54-48. Oklahoma Christian is unranked and 10-13 for the season. If Adair wins they will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Perkins-Tryon against the winner of Chisholm (Unranked, 13-11)/Newkirk (#12, 19-5) for Regional Championship. Both Regional Champion and Runner-up moves on to Area next week. If Adair can’t top Oklahoma Christian School, they fall into the consolation bracket and will have to beat the winner of Alva (#12, 12-11)/Hennessey (Unranked, 9-11) Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Perkins/Tryon. They will also have to win at 1:30 Saturday in Perkins-Tryon against Perry (Unranked, 7-16), Salina (Unranked, 5-16), Chisholm or Newkirk in that scenario.
Salina girls are in the starting this weekend’s playoffs in the consolation bracket and must win 3 in a row to stay alive. Their first opponent is Perry today at 3:30 p.m. in Perkins-Tryon. The Lady Wildcats are (Unranked, 5-16), Perry (Unranked, 7-16). A win for Salina would put them against the loser of Chisholm (Unranked, 13-11)/Newkirk (#12, 19-5). The winner of the second game will move on to the final game of the consolation bracket Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Alva (#12, 12-11)/, Hennessey (Unranked, 9-11), Adair (#1, 21-2) or Oklahoma Christian School (Unranked, 10-13).

The winner of the second game will play in the consolation finals on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Perkins-Tryon against Alva (Unranked, 12-12), Newkirk (Unranked, 1-20), Oklahoma Christian School (#15, 13-9) or Salina (#16, 17-6).
Salina boys’ first opponent this weekend is Oklahoma Christian School tonight at 8 p.m. in Perkins-Tryon. The Wildcats enter into Regionals #16, 17-6 for the season. Oklahoma Christian is #15 and 13-9. The winner of that game faces the winner of Chisholm (Unranked, 17-7)/Hennessey (#4, 22-2) Saturday at 8 p.m. Perkins Tryon for Regional Championship. Both Regional Champion and Runner-up moves on to Area next weekend.
LOCUST GROVE
GIRLS Locust Grove girls kicks off the Regional Tournament against Victory Christian at 6:30 tonight at Victory Christian. The Lady Pirates are unranked, 17-8 while Victory Christian comes in ranked #8, 19-4, losing to 4A #1 Ft Gibson, 4A #4 Muldrow, #1 A Seiling and #3 6A Owasso. If Locust Grove wins they will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Catoosa for Regional Championship against the winner of Vinita (#11, 19-5)/Grove (#13, 18-4). Both Regional Champion and Runner-up moves to Area next weekend. BOYS Locust Grove boys are starting the weekend in the consolation bracket and must win 3 in a row to keep the season alive. Locust Grove is unranked and 12-12 for the season. The Pirate’s first opponent is Sallisaw, unranked and 3-19 today at 5 p.m. at Victory Christian. The winner of that game faces the loser of Inola (#16, 16-7)/Catoosa (#10, 17-7) at 3 p.m. Friday in Catoosa. If Locust Grove wins two in a row their third win will need to be Friday at 3p.m. in Catoosa against Vinita (Unranked 3-21), Grove (Unranked 5-16), Daniel Webster (Unranked 13-10) or Victory Christian (#5, 17-7).
PRYOR
GIRLS Pryor girls (#6, 16-7) face Memorial (Unranked, 4-17) in the first round of Regionals at home, tonight at 8 p.m. They need a win to go up against the winner of Will Rogers (#11, 14-8)/McAlester (#20, 10-13) Saturday at 1:30 p.m., also in Pryor. Winner and runner-up at Regionals move to Area next weekend.
BOYS Pryor boys (#13, 13-10) play at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Coweta against Will Rogers (Unranked, 10-13). The winner of that game will play at 7 p.m. Saturday in Coweta for Regional Championship against the winner of Coweta (#7, 19-4)/McAlester (Unranked, 6-17). Both Regional Winner and Runner-up move on to Area next weekend.
