Mayes County teams play in Regionals this week.Basketball regionals will be this week and all Mayes County teams are still alive.Chouteau
The Lady Wildcats must win to continue their season after falling short 61-53 to Warner this past Saturday. They play at 1:30 Thursday in Chouteau against Afton. These teams matched up earlier this season at the Afton Tournament. Afton topped the Lady Wildcats 61-58 then. If Chouteau wins they will advance to play the loser of Howe/Talihina at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Porum. The final game for that bracket will be Saturday at 1:30 in Porum. Boys will play Afton at 8 p.m. Thursday in Chouteau. Afton is currently 16-8 and Chouteau is 17-7 and ranked #7, the two teams have yet to match up this season. The Wildcats beat Summit Christian 53-46 to advance to the winners bracket for regionals. If they win Thursday they will play the winner of Wiester/Talihina at 8 p.m. Saturday in Porum. Both winner and runner up from that championship game move on to area. If the Wildcats lose they will play at 3 p.m. Friday in Porum against the winner of Howe/Haskell. They will need to win that game and the consolation bracket championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday in Porum to advance to area.
Adair
Adair Lady Warriors face Eufaula Thursday at 6:30 in Adair. The girls are ranked #3 with a record of 21-3. The Eufaula girls are 15-8 and are not ranked. If They win they will play for regional champions at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Adair against the winner of Chelsea/Lincoln Christian. If they lose the fall into the consolation bracket and will have to win Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Adair vs the winner of Dewey/Cascia Hall and again in the consolation bracket championship game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Adair. The Warriors face Stigler at 8 p.m. Thursday in Adair. The Warriors beat Dove Science 76-18 to advance to Regionals. Stigler is currently 8-18 and Adair is currently 16-5 ranked #8. If they win Thursday's game they will face the winner of Dewey/Cascia Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m. in Adair. Both winner and runner up of that bracket advance to Area. If they lose they will play the winner of Chelsea/Lincoln Christian on Friday at 8 p.m. in Adair. They would have to win that game and the consolation bracket championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday in Adair to advance to Area.
Salina
The Salina Lady Wildcats are ranked #10 with a record of 18-6. They will play Vian in Vian Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Vian is ranked #18 with a record of 18-3. If Salina wins they will play for the regional championship Saturday at 6:30 in Verdigris against the winner of Kansas/Westville. If they lose they fall into the consolation bracket, they will have to win Friday at 1:30 in Verdigris against the winner of Keys/Verdigris and again on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Verdigris in order to advance to area.
Salina boys fell into the consolation bracket after a loss to Nowata 49-65 last Friday. They got a bye for the first round of the bracket and will play the loser of Keys/Verdigris at 8 p.m. Friday in Verdigris. They will need to win that game and the consolation bracket championship game at 3 Saturday in Verdigris to advance to area.
Locust Grove
The Lady Pirates are 14-9 and ranked #17 they will face Mannford at 6:30 p.m. in Claremore Sequoyah. Mannford is currently 13-11. If Locust Grove wins they advance to the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Ft Gibson against the winner of Inola/Ft Gibson. If they lose they will fall into the consolation bracket where they will have to win Friday at 6:30 in Ft Gibson against the winner of Wagoner/Miami and win the consolation championship game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Ft Gibson.
The Pirates are ranked #8 and are currently 20-3. They will face Mannford, currently 18-6 at 8 p.m. Thursday in Claremore Sequoyah. Mannford is currently 18-6. If Locust Grove wins Thursday's game they will advance to the regional championship Saturday at 8 p.m. in Ft Gibson against the winner of Ft Gibson/Miami. If they lose on Thursday, they fall into the consolation bracket and will play the winner of Wagoner/Inola at 8 p.m. Friday in Ft Gibson. They must win that game and the consolation bracket championship at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ft Gibson in order to advance to area.
Pryor
Pryor girls will face Coweta on Thursday, Feb. 24th at 6:30 in Skiatook for regional play. Pryor is currently 12-11, ranked #10. The girls need a win to play at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27th against the winner of Skiatook/Southeast also in Skiatook. Winner and runner-up at Regionals move to Area the following weekend. Pryor boys are also ranked #10 with a record of 16-7. The Tigers get to host their regional bracket. They will play Nathan Hale at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26th. The winner will face the winner of East Central/Bishop Kelley at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27th at 7 p.m. Winner and runner-up at Regionals move to Area the following weekend.
